Permanent Projection Screens
Selecting the right home theater projector screen is critical for optimum viewing.
There are several options to the types of screen installation. If you are going
to construct or use a room as a dedicated home theater, you have the option
of installing a permanent or fixed projection screen on the wall. When installing
a permanent projection screen it is common to also install curtains in front
of the screen to hide and protect the screen surface when not in use. This type
of screen installation is the most expensive. With a little care, consideration,
and in comparison to the cost of your video projector, you can turn the video
image that you watch into something really worth watching.
To get the best out of your video projector, you need a good quality screen.
Home theater screens are the secret behind a great image projection and an enjoyable
movie theater experience. A powerful projector is not a required for the best
experience - but a suitable wall projection screen is an essential requirement
for the best results.
There is no magic home theater projection screen that performs well under all
conditions. But, it is worth taking note that the selection of permanent projection
screens is such that whatever your constraints or requirements are, such as
ambient light conditions, limited room configurations, budget restrictions,
etc., you can be confident that there is always a high quality projection screen
that represents an optimum solution to your needs. With a little care, consideration,
and in comparison to the cost of your video projector, a relatively minimal
expense, you can transform the video image that you watch into something really
exciting.
Fixed projection Screens or permanent projection screens are the simplest and
most straight-forward home theater projector screens. Usually, these are found
among the more serious home theater enthusiasts. Fixed projection Screens are
perfect for home theater and meeting room use or in any location where screen
viewing is desired. For the most part all attention is focused on room design
and equipment performance, while less attention is paid to "hiding"
equipment, so permanent projection screens are more often installed. Permanent
projection screens are similar to large scale movie screens in that they remain
fixed to the wall for ready-to-use media projection.
All screen surfaces are available in many screen sizes and in different screen
arrays. Selecting the right screen setup and screen surface that is best for
you depends on a number of factors - including your home theater environment,
viewing angle, projector output, projection screen size - as well as on the
amount of ambient light and the projection screen gain.
The reality is that you cannot use a projector without an equally matched home
theater projection screen. The outcome of your projected image is highly dependent
on the quality of your projection screen. The cost of a good quality projector
screen is less when compared to the overall cost of your home theater. You will
surely be upgrading your home theater equipment every few years; these upgrades
will eventually include your most expensive item within your home theater -
the projector. BUT you won't upgrade a good quality permanent projection screen!
High quality home theater screens can last a lifetime!
